Sweet Pea Silver : About Us

~ Imagine a land where everything is silver. There are salamanders and dragonflies, pink pigs and pugs, angel kitties and Santa mice.

Welcome to the world of Sweet Pea Silver! ~

In 1988 Anne and Jane established their jewelry design partnership in San Francisco, California, and have since combined their creative efforts to produce their own sterling silver jewelry line.

The originality of Anne & Jane's Sweet Pea Sterling Silver Jewelry collections has its roots in growing up on a farm whose almond orchards were watered by streams from the Sierra Nevada, a location that fed their imaginations and creativity. Caring for animals and encountering wildlife on nearby excursions inspire their designs of animals and nature themes like the autumn line. Not only nature but those early cherished mementos from nursery rhymes to holidays have been the source of angels, heart pendants, bracelets and whimsical bunny pins.

“We all feel that beautiful things are good for the soul,” Jane says. “We seem to tap into a different part of the brain when creating jewelry from the one you use to manage the business side of things. We laugh a lot when we are designing.”

Anne was introduced to the silver jewelry business while studying Spanish in Mexico. For the next four years Anne lived, worked and studied jewelry design in the city of Taxco, Mexico.

“We have been working with three family studios in Taxco, Mexico, who have hand made our jewelry brilliantly since the beginning,” Anne says.

Jane studied graphic design at California State University, Chico. Anne earned her bachelor's degree in design from the University of California at Davis. After nearly a decade of operating the jewelry business from San Francisco, in 1998 they relocated to the old fishing port of Fort Bragg on the redwood-forested Northern California coast. They produce several new lines of custom hand-colored designs each year.
